# TopazVideoEnhanceV2 - ComfyUI Built-in Node Documentation

> The Topaz Video Enhance V2 node breathes new life into video with powerful upscaling and recovery technology.

The **Topaz Video Enhance V2** node breathes new life into video with powerful upscaling and recovery technology. It can increase the resolution of a video using different Topaz upscaler models, adjust the frame rate through frame interpolation, and apply creative or realistic enhancement settings.

## Inputs

### Common Inputs

| Parameter | Description | Data Type | Required | Range |
| - | - | - | - | - |
| `video` | The input video to be processed. Must be in MP4 container format. | VIDEO | Yes | - |
| `upscaler_model` | The AI model used to upscale the video. The available sub-parameters depend on the selected model. Selecting `"Disabled"` disables upscaling. | DYNAMIC\_COMBO | Yes | `"Astra 2"`<br />`"Starlight (Astra) Fast"`<br />`"Starlight (Astra) Creative"`<br />`"Starlight Precise 2.5"`<br />`"Disabled"` |
| `interpolation_model` | The AI model used for frame interpolation. The available sub-parameters depend on the selected model. Selecting `"Disabled"` disables interpolation. | DYNAMIC\_COMBO | Yes | `"Disabled"`<br />`"apo-8"` |
| `dynamic_compression_level` | CQP level used for video compression (default: `"Low"`). | COMBO | No | `"Low"`<br />`"Mid"`<br />`"High"` |

The following sections describe the sub-parameters that appear for each option of the `upscaler_model` and `interpolation_model` selectors. The `"Disabled"` options do not show any additional parameters.

### Astra 2 Inputs

| Parameter | Description | Data Type | Required | Range |
| - | - | - | - | - |
| `upscaler_model.upscaler_resolution` | Target output resolution of the upscale. | COMBO | Yes (when "Astra 2" is selected) | `"FullHD (1080p)"`<br />`"4K (2160p)"` |
| `upscaler_model.creativity` | Creative strength of the upscale (default: 0.5). | FLOAT | No | 0.0 to 1.0 (step 0.1) |
| `upscaler_model.prompt` | Optional descriptive (not instructive) scene prompt. Capping input at 450 frames (\~15s @ 30fps) when set (default: empty). | STRING | No | - |
| `upscaler_model.sharp` | Pre-enhance sharpness: 0.0=Gaussian blur, 0.5=passthrough (default), 1.0=USM sharpening. | FLOAT | No | 0.0 to 1.0 (step 0.01) |
| `upscaler_model.realism` | Pulls output toward photographic realism. Leave at 0 for the model default (default: 0.0). | FLOAT | No | 0.0 to 1.0 (step 0.01) |

### Starlight (Astra) Fast Inputs

| Parameter | Description | Data Type | Required | Range |
| - | - | - | - | - |
| `upscaler_model.upscaler_resolution` | Target output resolution of the upscale. | COMBO | Yes (when this model is selected) | `"FullHD (1080p)"`<br />`"4K (2160p)"` |

### Starlight (Astra) Creative Inputs

| Parameter | Description | Data Type | Required | Range |
| - | - | - | - | - |
| `upscaler_model.upscaler_resolution` | Target output resolution of the upscale. | COMBO | Yes (when this model is selected) | `"FullHD (1080p)"`<br />`"4K (2160p)"` |
| `upscaler_model.creativity` | Creative strength of the upscale (default: `"low"`). | COMBO | No | `"low"`<br />`"middle"`<br />`"high"` |

### Starlight Precise 2.5 Inputs

| Parameter | Description | Data Type | Required | Range |
| - | - | - | - | - |
| `upscaler_model.upscaler_resolution` | Target output resolution of the upscale. | COMBO | Yes (when this model is selected) | `"FullHD (1080p)"`<br />`"4K (2160p)"` |

### apo-8 Inputs

| Parameter | Description | Data Type | Required | Range |
| - | - | - | - | - |
| `interpolation_model.interpolation_frame_rate` | Output frame rate (default: 60). | INT | Yes (when "apo-8" is selected) | 15 to 240 |
| `interpolation_model.interpolation_slowmo` | Slow-motion factor applied to the input video. For example, 2 makes the output twice as slow and doubles the duration (default: 1). | INT | No | 1 to 16 |
| `interpolation_model.interpolation_duplicate` | Analyze the input for duplicate frames and remove them (default: False). | BOOLEAN | No | True<br />False |
| `interpolation_model.interpolation_duplicate_threshold` | Detection sensitivity for duplicate frames (default: 0.01). | FLOAT | No | 0.001 to 0.1 (step 0.001) |

**Important Constraints:**

* At least one of `upscaler_model` or `interpolation_model` must be enabled. If both are set to `"Disabled"`, the node raises an error because there is nothing to process.
* The input `video` must be in MP4 container format.
* The `"Astra 2"` model is limited to 9000 input frames. When a `prompt` is set, the limit is 450 input frames (\~15 seconds at 30 fps). The node raises an error if the video exceeds the applicable limit.
* `upscaler_model.upscaler_resolution` is required whenever an upscaler model other than `"Disabled"` is selected. `"FullHD (1080p)"` targets a 1080p result and `"4K (2160p)"` targets a 2160p result; the exact output width and height are computed from the input aspect ratio, capped to a maximum long side of 1920 or 3840 pixels respectively, and rounded to an even number.
* `interpolation_model.interpolation_frame_rate` is required whenever `interpolation_model` is `"apo-8"`.
* Very large files are not currently supported; uploads are limited to a single part, otherwise the node raises an error.
* Several parameters (`sharp`, `realism`, `interpolation_slowmo`, `interpolation_duplicate`, `interpolation_duplicate_threshold`) are marked as advanced in the UI and may be hidden by default.

## Outputs

| Output Name | Description | Data Type |
| - | - | - |
| `video` | The enhanced video after applying the selected upscaling and/or interpolation filters. | VIDEO |
